Monica has been a Miami Beach resident for 16 years and is a single mom to two boys, Magglio and Tiago. She knows that quality education is key to a successful family and community that began with her parental involvement.

Monica has two amazing sons, Magglio and Tiago, who attended South Pointe Elementary and Nautilus Middle School, and are now attending Miami Beach Senior High School. Monica has been involved with the PTAs since her sons began attending school.

When COVID hit, she knew how difficult a time it was and would be for students and parents on a short- and long-term basis. Magglio had begun attending Nautilus Middle School; Monica did what she had always done: she got busy and got things done by becoming the PTSA president and helping when our students and parents needed it most.

Monica remains steadfast in her support of expanded educational opportunities beyond what is provided by the Miami-Dade County School Board.
